Dental Space One

I apologize for such a long letter - I didn’t have time to write a short one. Mark Twain

Dental Space One

Five years ago a good friend from college gave me a call and asked if I would like to build a dental laboratory. I had no clue about anything in dental industry, but as this activity would require writing software so I agreed. It was a month since I shovelled unlaunched project into the void, so the the timing was right to start something new. So my partner launches the laboratory, hires the personnel and acquires the equipment while I develop the software for the customers to submit the orders electronically and have the production process formalized in the software workflows. Dental Laboratory opened its doors within four month after our initial conversation.

We started serving our customers in very original geography to be able to move as fast as we can without any regulations from the government. Our lab grows the customer base to almost 50 active customers during trying times of COVID-19 pandemic. We get super positive feedback from our customers about our software that enables them to be involved in production process from the get go, send requirements and discuss the ways to overcome physiological nuances of every dental implant and crown that we produce making the patients happy with quick turn-around and quality service. It was some time after we’ve realized that we deliver the prosthetics to dentists almost 3 times faster than any other player on this market that fit better in the mouths of their patients.

Delivered Orders

over the course of 5 years

As we joined the premier league of the dental labs market we realize that it’s our software that makes the difference between our growth and markets’ worries. Truly, providing a single place for order communication creates an effective environment that results in better prosthetics in shorter time. This knowledge was pivotal, as we realize that the industry will benefit more from the availability of this software than from a single laboratory, however good it becomes.

Inspired by growth and success, I decide to rewrite the software so that it could support multiple tenants and make it available for other labs to utilize for their business. This event marks the second and current iteration of our software and incorporation of the business as it exists now.

We’ve incorporated in late 2022 for selling software as a different business entity. Our first sale took us two months to happen and we are proud that the first customer is still around, just last year expanded their business internationally. We’ve celebrated customer number 100 on January 21st. We grew the team of 6 smart and talented people.

There is bunch of good stories that I’ve experienced over the course of five years. Each of them is worth a separate post on this site.
